D.T.D. (darktimedecadence) is a musical project by Naples-based artist Giuseppe Augello, inspired by a cultural, artistic and literary movement from the 19th century. Augello draws from decadent archetypes: the tortured artist, the aesthete, the femme fatale, delving into the timeless themes of the human condition such as identity denial, failure, power and submission. The artist prides himself in his intuitive ability to adapt to his audience during performances, endowing the stereotypically austere techno genre with a touch of controlled human chaos while maintaining its characteristically sombre, penetrating atmosphere. The project's distinctive style is defined by a dystopian feel, heavily influenced by post-punk, EBM, and industrial genres, often incorporating field recordings and DIY noise boxes to create a richly dramatic sonic experience.
